Thymesis — Business Card Scanner · Last updated 22 June 2026

In plain terms: Thymesis is built to keep your data on your device. We don't run servers that store your contacts, we don't use third-party analytics or advertising, and card recognition happens on-device using Apple Intelligence. The detail below explains exactly how this works.

1. Who we are

Thymesis is a business card scanning app published by Topic Technologies (“Topic Technologies”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how the Thymesis iOS application (the “App”) handles information. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@topic-technologies.com.

2. Our approach to your data

Thymesis is a local-first application. The contacts, events, notes, tasks, card photos and personal card you create are stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud account. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores this content, and we cannot see it.

3. Information the App handles

Business card data you capture

When you scan or import a card, the App extracts fields such as name, job title, company, phone, email, website and address. This information is stored locally on your device. Recognition is performed on-device by Apple Intelligence; card images are not uploaded to Topic Technologies.

Camera & photo library

The App requests camera access only to scan cards and QR codes, and photo-library access only if you choose to import an existing image or save a captured card photo. Images are processed on-device. The App does not access your library in the background.

Your personal card

If you set up “My Card”, the details you enter are stored on your device and encoded into a QR code that you choose when to share. We never transmit it on your behalf.

Contacts & reminders

If you save a scanned card to Apple Contacts or sync a follow-up to Reminders, that data is written to Apple's system frameworks under your control. Their handling is governed by Apple's terms, not ours.

Diagnostics

If you opt in to share crash and performance diagnostics with Apple, those reports are delivered to us by Apple in aggregated, non-identifying form. The App contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

4. iCloud backup

You can back up your events, contacts, notes and photos to iCloud Drive, and you can export a manual JSON backup file to store yourself. iCloud data resides in your personal Apple account and is subject to Apple's privacy and security practices. Topic Technologies has no access to your iCloud backups.

5. What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.
  • We do not use advertising networks or run ads in the App.
  • We do not embed third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.
  • We do not require an account, login, or API key to use the App.

6. Your rights & choices

Because your data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it. You can edit or delete any contact, event, note or photo at any time, turn iCloud backup on or off, revoke camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings, and use “Reset All Settings” in the App. Deleting the App removes its local data from your device. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

7. Children

Thymesis is a professional networking tool intended for users aged 17 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, noted in the App's release notes.
